When it comes to fencing in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex cities there are several types and styles to chose from. The options are almost endless. There are wood fences, chain-link fence, wrought iron fence, pvc fence, precast concrete fence and many more to chose from. Fences also come in different heights from 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and that goes higher as well. Lets start with wood fencing. The most common types of wood used in the DFW area is spruce, pressure treated pine, Chinese fir, Douglas fir, Chinese cedar and western red cedar.

For wood fences the common styles in are Dallas area are side by side, board on board, horizontal and shadow box. Other features such as using landscape timbers, 4x4 treated, or metal posts. For rails there are 2x3 or 2x4 dimensions, spruce, treated or cedar. A kick-board or otherwise known as rot-board is the board at the bottom which aids in elevating the pickets of the ground, therefore keeping it from rotting and helps reduce damage from weed eaters.
